The difference between stainless steel bearings and bearing steel

The materials used in the bearing are: engineering stainless steel. The inner ring of the bearing, the outer ring of the bearing, the rolling element of the bearing, the cage and the sealing ring are all engineering stainless steel. (The sealing ring also has rubber sealing ring. The general material of the cage is: 201 stainless steel. ).

Stainless steel bearings have the following advantages: 1. Excellent corrosion resistance: Most bearing failures are caused by corrosion. Stainless steel bearings are not easy to rust and have strong corrosion resistance. 2. Washable DOWN: They can be washed down without re-lubricating to prevent rust. This advantage is more obvious. 3. Slow depletion speed: AISI 316 stainless steel does not require oil or grease to protect against corrosion. Therefore, if the speed and load are low, lubrication is not required. 4. Non-magnetic stainless steel Austenitic stainless steel, such as AISI316, is usually not considered a magnetic material. The metal of the basic composition is 18-8 chromium-nickel and molybdenum additives. 5. Sanitation: Stainless steel is naturally clean, because they do not corrode, or bearings need to be lubricated in some applications. 6. The stainless steel bearing is equipped with a high temperature polymer cage or a cage without a complete complement structure, which can operate in a higher temperature range of 180°F to 1000°F. Compared with the previous advantages, this advantage is easier to reflect.

In terms of function, there is little difference between stainless steel bearings and bearing steel bearings. Because their main purpose is to use as mechanical transmission parts. However, in terms of performance, stainless steel bearings have more advantages than bearing steel bearings.

(1) Bearing steel generally has a relatively high carbon content to enhance wear resistance, while stainless steel generally has a relatively high Cr content, exceeding 12%, mainly for the use of its corrosion resistance.

(2) Compared with ordinary bearings, stainless steel bearings not only have obvious advantages in materials, but also have much stricter control over the process and precision than ordinary bearings. In the working process, the stainless steel bearing works stably, with low noise, corrosion resistance and wide application.

(3) Compared with ordinary bearing steel, stainless steel bearings have stronger anti-rust and anti-corrosion properties. Choose suitable lubricants, dust caps, etc., and can be used in an environment of -60℃~+300℃. Because of its high mechanical strength and large load capacity, stainless steel bearings are widely used in food processing, medical equipment, and pharmaceutical machinery.
