A and A1 are based on the ball and tapered roller bearings respectively, with cylindrical outside diameters. A and A1 both have a two-piece inner ring. The advantages of A and A1: are compact, better reliable, and simpler mounting process. It is one of the most used wheel bearings.

A are double-row angular contact ball bearings designed with a large contact angle. This provides the units with the required stiffness to accommodate tilting forces under specified loading conditions.

A1 is double-row tapered roller bearings. The low crosssection and precise contact angle result in a very compact unit, which can accommodate both axial and radial loads.
