Bearing lubrication: the life blood that keeps machinery running

Bearings are indispensable components in the field of modern machinery. They play a vital role in various equipment and machinery. The lubrication of bearings is one of the key factors to ensure their normal operation and reduce friction and wear. JRZC will discuss with you the importance of bearing lubrication, lubrication methods, lubricant selection, and bearing lubrication maintenance.

The importance of bearing lubrication

Reduce friction and wear: When the bearing is working, friction is inevitable, and proper lubrication can reduce the friction coefficient, reduce wear, and extend the service life of the bearing.

Cooling and sealing: Lubricant can form a protective film between the bearing and the external environment, which plays the role of sealing and cooling, effectively reducing the operating temperature of the bearing and improving work efficiency.

Reduce noise: Good lubrication can reduce the noise generated by the bearing during operation and improve the smooth operation and comfort of the equipment.

Bearing lubrication method

Grease: Grease is one of the most common lubrication methods. It consists of base oil and additives. It has good viscosity and adhesion and is suitable for high-speed, high-temperature and sealed bearings.

Lubricating oil: Lubricating oil is suitable for high-speed bearings and continuously operating machines. It has good fluidity and cooling properties and can form a uniform oil film in the bearings to reduce friction.

Solid lubricants: Solid lubricants are usually used in bearings operating at high temperatures, high loads and low speeds, such as molybdenum, copper, lead and other solid particles, which can form a uniform lubricating film on the bearing surface to reduce friction and wear.

Lubricant selection

Working conditions: Select the appropriate lubricant according to the working conditions of the bearing, taking into account the load, speed, temperature and other factors of the bearing.

Wear resistance: The wear resistance of a lubricant is one of the important indicators to measure its performance. Choosing a lubricant with good wear resistance can effectively extend the service life of the bearing.

Temperature stability: The lubricant should not decompose or fail at high temperatures, and should have good temperature stability to ensure normal lubrication of the bearings under various working conditions.

Sealing performance: For sealed bearings, the sealing performance of the lubricant is crucial. A lubricant with good sealing performance should be selected to prevent external contaminants from entering the inside of the bearing.
