Bearing knowledge---How to choose the type of bearing
Selection of bearing type
When choosing a bearing type, it is crucial to have a comprehensive understanding of the bearing's operating conditions.
1)Bearing installation space | Bearing type that can be accommodated in the bearing installation space | l Because the rigidity and strength of the shaft are paid attention to when designing the shaft system, the shaft diameter, that is, the inner diameter of the bearing, is generally determined first. However, there are many size series and types of rolling bearings, and the most suitable bearing type should be selected from them. |
2)Load | Load Size, direction, and nature of bearing load (The load capacity of the bearing is represented by the basic rated load, and its value is listed in the bearing dimension table) | l The bearing load is full of changes, such as the size of the load, whether there is only radial load, whether the axial load is one-way or two-way, vibration or shock degree, and so on. After considering these factors, choose the most suitable bearing type. lGenerally speaking, the radial load capacity of bearings with the same inner diameter increases in the following order (deep groove ball bearing < cylindrical roller bearing < tapered roller bearing < spherical roller bearing)
3) Speed | Bearing type that can adapt to mechanical speed (The limit value of the bearing speed is represented by the limit speed, and its value is listed in the bearing dimension table) | l The limit speed of the bearing depends not only on the bearing type but also on the bearing size, cage type, accuracy grade, load condition, lubrication method, etc., therefore, these factors must be considered when choosing. l The following bearings are mostly used for high-speed rotation: (Deep groove ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings)
4)Rotational accuracy | Bearing type with required selection accuracy (The dimensional accuracy and selection accuracy of bearings have been standardized by GB according to the bearing type) | l The spindle of machine tool, gas turbine, and control machine require high rotation accuracy, high speed, and low friction respectively. l The following bearings are generally used (Deep groove ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings)
5) Rigidity | Bearing type that can meet the rigidity required for mechanical shafting (When the bearing is under load, the contact part between the rolling element and the raceway will produce elastic deformation. "High rigidity" means that the amount of deformation of this elastic deformation becomes smaller.) | l In parts such as machine tool spindles and automobile final reduction gears, when raising the shaft While the rigidity of the bearing must be improved, the rigidity of the bearing must also be improved. l The deformation of the roller bearing under load is smaller than that of the ball bearing. l Applying preload (negative clearance) to the bearing can improve rigidity. This method is suitable for angular contact ball bearings and tapered roller bearings.
6) The relative inclination of the inner ring and the outer ring | Analyze the factors that cause the relative inclination of the inner ring and the outer ring of the bearing (such as the deflection of the shaft caused by the load, the poor accuracy of the shaft and the outer casing, or the installation error), and select the one that can adapt to this Bearing type of use conditions (the allowable inclination angle (or self-aligning angle) of the bearing is listed in the explanation before the various bearing dimension tables) | l If the relative inclination of the inner ring and the outer ring is too large, the bearing will be damaged due to the internal load. Therefore, a bearing type that can withstand this tilt should be selected. l In general, the allowable tilt angle (or alignment angle) increases in the following order: (cylindrical roller bearings, tapered roller bearings, deep groove ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, spherical roller bearings, self-aligning ball bearings)
7) Installation and disassembly | Frequency of assembly and disassembly and method of assembly and disassembly such as regular inspection | l When assembly and disassembly are frequent, it is more convenient to use cylindrical roller bearings with separable inner and outer rings, needle roller bearings, and tapered roller bearings. l Tapered hole self-aligning ball bearings and tapered hole self-aligning roller bearings can be easily assembled and disassembled by using fasteners or push sleeves. |
