Use and installation of spherical roller bearings

  Installation

  Spherical roller bearings are equipped with drum-shaped roller bearings between the inner ring with two raceways and the outer ring with spherical raceways. The curvature center of the outer ring raceway surface is consistent with the bearing center, so it has the same centering function as the self-aligning ball bearing. When the shaft and housing are deflected, it can automatically adjust the load and the axial load in two directions. Large radial load capacity, suitable for heavy load and shock load. Bearings whose inner diameter is a tapered bore can be directly installed. Or use an adapter sleeve or a disassembly tube to install it on the cylindrical shaft. The cage uses steel stamping cage, polyamide forming cage and copper alloy car cage.

     For self-aligning bearings, the use of an intermediate mounting ring can prevent the outer ring from tilting and rotating when installing the bearing with the shaft into the box shaft hole. It should be remembered that some sizes of self-aligning ball bearings have balls protruding from the side of the bearing, so the middle mounting ring should be recessed to prevent damage to the balls. A large number of bearings are generally installed by mechanical or hydraulic press-in method.

  For separable bearings, the inner and outer rings can be installed separately, which simplifies the installation process, especially when the inner and outer rings require interference fit. When installing the shaft with the inner ring in place into the bearing box that already contains the outer ring, care must be taken to check whether the inner and outer rings are correctly aligned to avoid scratching the bearing raceways and rolling parts. If cylindrical and needle roller bearings use inner rings without flanges or inner rings with flanges on one side, it is recommended to use mounting sleeves. The outer diameter of the sleeve should be equal to the inner ring raceway diameter F, and the tolerance standard for machining should be d10. Drawn cup needle roller bearings are best installed with mandrels.

  Clearance

  For the installation axial clearance of the spherical roller bearing, it can be adjusted by the adjusting nut on the journal, the adjusting washer and the thread in the bearing seat hole, or the pre-tensioned spring. The size of the axial clearance is related to the arrangement of the bearing, the distance between the bearings, and the material of the shaft and the bearing seat, and can be determined according to the working conditions. For high-load and high-speed spherical roller bearings, when adjusting the clearance, the influence of temperature rise on the axial clearance must be considered, and the reduction in clearance caused by the temperature rise must be estimated, that is, the axial clearance The gap should be appropriately adjusted to be larger. For low-speed and vibration-bearing bearings, clearance-free installation or pre-load installation should be adopted. Its purpose is to make the roller and raceway of the spherical roller bearing have good contact, the load is evenly distributed, and to prevent the roller and raceway from being damaged by vibration and impact. After adjustment, the size of the axial clearance is checked with a dial indicator. The method is to first fix the dial indicator on the body or the bearing seat, make the dial indicator contacts against the smooth surface of the shaft, push the shaft left and right along the axis, and the maximum swing of the needle is the axial clearance value.
