Do you know the origin of Diwali?

Diwali Festival, a very important national festival in India and Nepal, celebrates "to drive away the darkness with light and conquer evil with goodness".

The significance of this festival to Hindus is equivalent to the significance of Christmas to Christians and the significance of Chinese New Year to the Chinese.

  • Diwali dates for 2022 start on October 24. Diwali lasts for 5 days, the third of which is the climax of the festival, with fireworks and various festive lights that light up the dark night.

  • The meaning of Diwali is especially important for those who are engaged in business, as this festival is a prayer for blessings from the God of Wealth (Lakshmi). She is the goddess of wealth and prosperity in India.

  • Indians believe that the God of Wealth was born out of the churning sea during Diwali, and during the five days of Diwali, she visits house to house with prosperity and wealth.

  • It is said that she starts with the cleanest home first. Therefore, people would clean up before lighting the lights, keep the house clean, and invite the goddess to enter the door. Some Indian families will worship the goddess of filial piety at home.

  • On the eve of Diwali, Indians thoroughly clean their homes and offices. They then decorate their home and office hallways with traditional Rangoli-inspired patterns such as bells, garlands, wall hangings, mirrors and LED lights to create a joyous atmosphere for the god of wealth.

  • On the first day of Diwali, Indians are used to taking to the streets to buy some tableware and decorations.

  • On festive evenings, each household lights small kerosene lamps (diyas) and sometimes candles around the house. These lamps symbolize knowledge and light in the heart, which can dispel all ignorance and darkness and bring inner peace into the depths of the heart.

  • The temple is more lively. Good men and women of Hinduism will come to light lamps to pray for blessings and exchange gifts.

  • The third day of Diwali is the climax of the festival, with a grand fireworks display, women generally wear traditional Indian dress called sari and men in ethnic kurtas.

  • In addition, a "Lakshmi pooja" ceremony will be held on this day to pray for the blessing of Lakshmi, the god of wealth.

  • Jinrui Bearings may this occasion bring happiness, health, wealth and prosperity to you and your family. Happy Diwali to you!
